What?

Essentially, ElizabethmK.com was the only clever name I could come up with. I changed site titles and online handles too often throughout the early years of my web-presence to buy a single domain and have it last any length of time. Perhaps it is testament to my Attention Deficit Disorder still uncurbed.

In any event, this site spring boards my visitors to numerous resources, meaningless rambling, fanlistings, designs, and various thoughts on life from yours truly. The site will probably never be finished as I continue to evolve, change, and inevitably change my mind. This is after all my third layout in three years and neither of the previous sites were completely fleshed out. I enjoy a little bit of entropy in my life.

Where?

I have lived my entire life inside one Allen County, Indiana. But within that time, I've been a few places, experienced a few kinds of lifestyles, and have managed to exist in a quasi anonymous state with moments of infamy.

I work for Dollar General currently. It's the paying gig. Other projects include Administration Director of Our Lady Rejoice Ministries, Libertarian Party of Allen County, and Save Maumee.

Why?

"There once was a little girl, who had a little curl,
Right in the middle of her forehead,
And when she was good, she was very, very good,
And when she was bad, she was horrid.
"
-H.W. Longfellow

Growing up on a dairy farm in East Allen County with an Aunt and Uncle who legally adopted me in 1983 was not the easiest life. It was idyllic and the land was peaceful and Wayne showed me how to listen to the wind, the earth, and the animals around me. But Marguerite was a trial and a half. The lies, the accusations, the recriminations.

The above poem was recited to me by my mother repeatedly. You'll even see in the above photo that I still have the little curl! When I went to look up the poem, I found numerous blogs and books all quoting dear Mr. Longfellow, most of which talked about mothers and fathers who used it much the same as my own mother: a quaint little reminder that we were bad little girls.

Despite this, I have managed, somehow, to find loving friends and family after 20 some years of separation and have realized that I am not inherently evil or bad. I am darker than the average farm-girl-turned-city-woman, though we all left the farms becoming something other than what our families wanted for us. ElizabethmK.com is my world, my loves, dislikes, my passions, my foibles, my testament, my memoirs, my art. Please enjoy and be polite in your criticisms. Thank you.

How?

I use the Adobe CS Suite, sometimes reverting to Paint Shop Pro 7.0 and AceHTML Editor. I have some great friends and artistic confidants that help me work over my designs and I thank them profusely: Jessica- I rely a lot on your design schooling and thank you for your insights through out the years and wish I could repay you more. Fozy- Your perspective on life is quite colorful and you have challenged me emotionally, personally, and artistically, but never ethically. Anna- You keep me balanced. Thank you all.
